Children’s Ministry Team Leader

Lana is currently serving as Children’s Director of MSBC. She is a wife, mother, and grandmother. She is a retired kitchen hostess and preschool children’s assistant director, and she has now dedicated her life to caring for her grandchildren while her children teach in a classroom of their own. Lana began her career in children’s ministry over 30 years ago in a Christian preschool program. She started out as the teacher of the 2-4 year old class and eventually became assistant director of the preschool. Lana’s vast experience in children’s ministry, her great love for children, and her commitment to serve God faithfully has resulted in substantial growth in the children’s department at MSBC.

Lana’s goal is to teach children about God’s great love for them and the sacrifice that Jesus made so that they could be saved. She desires to provide learning opportunities for children of all ages, and ultimately desires to be used by God to lead boys and girls into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Lana believes that the foundation of a child’s spiritual growth and development begins at birth and that understanding continues to grow as the child matures. As a result, she believes that it is both the responsibility of the parents in the home, and the leaders of the church to teach our children the foundational elements of God’s Word at an early age.

Lana has been married to her husband Mike for 37 years. They have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. Mike and Lana both share a common love for children, and together they have served in children’s ministry for the entire 37 years of their marriage. Lana is very excited about all that God has in store for the future of the church and prays for God’s guidance and favor as we strive to lead and teach the children about our Lord and Savior. Her desire is to build a firm foundation that they can continue to build on for the rest of their lives.
